Dear Members of the Holy Trinity Congregation,
Following prayerful consideration and consultation with Bishop Mauney, I am writing to inform you that I will be retiring as the Pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church effective August 1, 2015. My last day of work will be July 31, 2015.
It has been a holy privilege and honor to serve as pastor of this parish since October of 1994. Together we have served God and others with the Gospel message of Jesus’ grace and love. As the body of Christ, we have worshipped, prayed, studied, and sought to be the hands and feet of Christ working in our homes, congregation, community and world.
Through the call of the Holy Spirit we shared this ministry together. Through this same Holy Spirit, I am now being called to a new opportunity to serve God. Following my official retirement, I will begin service as the Chaplain at Trinity View Retirement Center in Arden, N.C.
Thank you for calling me to serve God through this congregation. I deeply treasure the partnership in ministry we have shared throughout these years.
Please acknowledge this letter as my official notice of retirement and resignation. I will do my best to ensure a smooth transition.
Finally, we ask for your prayers and support during this time of transition.
The Rev. Steven P. Ridenhour

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen
Our faith tradition is based on a life-transforming story. Holy Trinity’s Story and The ELCA’s story is both ancient and timely. It’s a story of a powerful and patient God who has boundless love for all people of the world, who brings justice for the oppressed. It’s a story of Jesus Christ, changing lives. It’s a story that brings comfort and strength to people who today live in modern, often unsettling times. Learn more about our beliefs—and become a part of our story.
